Notice of 1st "AI Plus" Innovation&Entrepreneurship Competition

The Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) plans to publish the notice of the competition about the first China “AI Plus” innovation and entrepreneurship and the sixth national college students’ digital media technology works and ideas, which aims to implement the national guidelines for the development of creative cultural industry, further improve the university cultural construction in China and practical ability to innovate, to show the media technology and related new experience, new results of subject construction, and promote the professional connotation construction, recognition of innovative school teachers and students, to better promote the college students and media related professional education scientific research level of science and technology, to encourage teachers and students actively participating, to strengthen the construction of students' team consciousness, promote the development of depth of university-enterprise cooperation; At the same time provide students who have good ideas and technology a creative thinking academic atmosphere, a space that can play to create inspiration, to encourage innovation, deepen the innovation level, innovation talents, cultivate team spirit of cooperation, to develop commercially or campus application value, promote the overall innovation of science and technology of digital media works in China and its development strength.

 

 

 

Objective

The competition focuses on further improve the high quality employment for students in colleges and universities, and carry forward national culture, promote professional connotation construction, improve professional teaching level, lift learning enthusiasm, cultivate students' sense of teamwork, as well as build university-enterprise cooperation platform.

Applicant’s Qualification

Any student in any institutions of higher learning approved by the Ministry of Education (including higher vocational colleges), without limitations of major, are all qualified to participate in the competition.

Team Members

 

The league is a team competition. Each team should have no more than 5 students in principle. Students are encouraged to team up across majors and schools, but there will be unified awards.

Entry Requirements

The entries of this competition can be presented in two ways: by self-selected topic or by designated topic.

The way of self-selected topic

Teams can choose the topic of their work, but the theme should be "virtual reality" and "intelligent technology serving life". Self-designed entries include, but are not limited to, virtual reality and games, mobile application development, electronic book design, film and animation design, industrial design, architecture and indoor and outdoor performance, digital art performance, data visualization and other directions.

The way of designated topic:

There are many assigned topics, all of which are closely related to digital media technology and technology prepared by the contest sponsor from the practical point of view. In order to allow more college students to have more training opportunities, the principle of this competition requires: each team should submit no more than 2 pieces of work; The content of the entries must conform to “the attached regulations of the national college students digital media technology competition” and “the guidelines for the 6th national college students digital media technology works and ideas competition in 2018.”

 

Arrangement of the agenda and the schedule

The competition is divided into two stages: the preliminary competition and the national finals. In the preliminary stage, students submit the introduction of the entries online and the entry form of the competition, and the experts of the preliminary evaluation are mainly responsible for the evaluation. The national finals are a combination of oral defense, achievement application and presentation. The schedule is as follows:

1. Registration and submission of entries before September 20, 2018

2. Preliminary evaluation of the competition from September 21 to 25, 2018

3. The finalists for the national live finals will be announced from September 26 to 27, 2018

4. September 28, 2018 -- October 22, 2018 complete the finalists

5. National live finals from October 23 to 25, 2018

Remark:

(1) The above is the preliminary competition time, the specific time is subject to the latest notice;

 

(2)The national finals will be held at the site of Guangdong · Foshan (Tanzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center).

Registration for the competition

1. Before September 20 , 2018, all participating units designated a teacher as the competition of communication contacts, fill in the “contact person of media competition registration form ", and organize teams according to the“2018 sixth session of the national digital media technology college students competition entry guide "(see appendix 1) required to fill out" team entry form "(see appendix 2). (note: the team list once established will not be able to change in the application form, please all team pay special attention to!)

2. The contact person of the competition shall review the qualification of the participating teams, and summarize the information of the qualified teams to the summary table of participating teams in the digital media competition (see appendix 3).

3. The competition communication contact person shall send the electronic version of the competition contact registration form, competition team entry form and competition team summary form to dmt_competition@vip.163.com and mail the paper version with the official seal of the college to the competition secretariat.

 

Requirements for works

The content of the participating team should be independently designed and developed by the participating team members. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Any team found to have plagiarized or plagiarized will be disqualified from the competition, and the relevant instructors and universities will be held accountable.

 

Competition evaluation method

Preliminary contest: expert network review + centralized review. The organizing committee will make a comprehensive evaluation from the aspects of science and technology , creativity as well as performance of the works according to the expert groups in related fields reported by the participating teams, and decide whether the works will be shortlisted in the national finals or not.

National finals: on-site judging. All entries in the national finals must have at least one member participate in the roadshow and display of the entries.

Competition process

The contest will be announced through the official website and other media channels.

2. Registration and submission of entries (before September 20, 2018)

Participating groups should submit entry form and their works’ introduction through the competition designated E-mail box: dmt_competiton@vip.163.com (for video competition introduction, please submit *.mp4 with file size less than 10M)

The competition contact person shall, in accordance with the naming rules for the documents mentioned above, pool the competition team entry form, the summary of competition teams and the competition contact person registration form and submit the electronic competition entry form to dmt_competiton@vip.163.com

Preliminary judging (September 21-25, 2018)

Panel judges will review all entries online in groups and broadcast their reviews live.

Announcement of finalists for the national live finals (September 26-27, 2018)

 

This competition announces the list of its finalists through various ways.

Perfect the finalist works (September 28 -- October 22, 2018)

Finalists in the national finals team, can continue to modify and improve finalists entries.

National live finals (October 23-25, 2018)

A national finalist team must designate at least one team member to attend the finals at the venue of Guangdong · Foshan (Tanzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center). Otherwise, the team will be disqualified.

11. Award setting

This competition is set up according to the categories of entries: grand prize, first prize, second prize, third prize, excellent organization prize, etc. All the above awards except the third prize are generated by the final process. Prizes and certificates of honor will be distributed to the winning individuals.
