Introduction of the SAIL       

The second " The Second Spring School on Argumentation in AI & Law(SAIL-2019)" will be held at Central-South University in Changsha, Hunan province from April 12 to 16, 2019, which is jointly offered academic guidance by the International Association for Artificial Intelligence and Law (IAAIL), sponsored by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence(CAAI) and Central-South University, hosted by the school of law, school of automation, institute of intellectual property in Central South University and joint research institute of artificial intelligence which is organized by Central South University and Deep Blue Technology(Shanghai)Co.,Ltd.

The Spring School on Argumentation in AI & Law is a public welfare workshopthat jointly initiated by University of Groningen in Netherlands and Bart Verheij, professor (2018-2019) at the International Association for Artificial Intelligence and Law (IAAIL), Utrecht University and Henry Prakken, professor(2008-2009) at IAAI, University of Bologna and Giovanni Sarto,professor(2010-2011) at IAAI, and Xiong Minghui, professor at National Sun Yat-sen University. The Spring School on Argumentation in AI & Law mainly invited International leading scholars in the field of artificial intelligence and law to China to teach the international cutting-edge trends of artificial intelligence and law, which will be held in China every spring. The first Spring School on Argumentation in AI & Law in 2018(SAIL-2018) (sponsored by National Sun Yat-Sen University, organized by Institute of Logic and cognition)

Bart Verheij, director and professor at department of Artificial Intelligence in University of Groningen, president (2018-2019) at International Association for Artificial Intelligence and Law (IAAIL), resident researcher at The Stanford Center for Legal Informatics His main research fields include artificial intelligence and argumentation, artificial intelligence and law, evidential reasoning, moral system design, logical probability modeling, subject modeling, etc.

Enrico Francesconi, vice president(2018-2019) at the International Association for Artificial Intelligence and Law(IAAIL),president at the fourteenth International Academic Conference for Artificial Intelligence and Law(ICAIL-2013),professor at the school of computer science in the University of Florence, and researcher at Institute of Legal Information Theory and Technology ITTIG of Italian Research Council .

Floris Bex,doubled hired professor at department of computer science in Utrecht University ,and school of law in Tilburg University, professor at the seventeenth International Academic Conference for Artificial Intelligence and Law(ICAIL-2019). His research focuses on the computational, philosophical and linguistic aspects of argumentation, including causal stories and evidence argumentation, regulatory artificial intelligence, argumentation network, etc.

Minghui XIONG,distinguished professor of “Zhujiangxuezhe”(abbreviation of the distinguished professor of Guangdong institutions of higher learning) in Guangdong  Province, Ph. d. supervisor of logic major in philosophy department of Sun Yat-Sen University; ph. d. supervisor of legal theory major in law school of Sun Yat-Sen University. He is the co-supervisor of doctoral students in artificial intelligence and law in the department of artificial intelligence of the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, the executive director of the Chinese Association of Logic, and the deputy director of the member service committee of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence.

Yuqian Zhao, outstanding person in the program” for New Century Excellent Talents” of Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. Currently, Mr. Zhao is the vice dean and doctoral supervisor of Central-South University- Deep Blue Technology (Shanghai) Co.,Ltd artificial intelligence Institute, and the vice director at machine vision and intelligent medical engineering technology research center in Hunan Province. Mr.Zhao has been a postdoctoral research fellow and a senior visiting scholar at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and the Central Polytechnic University in Lyon, France

Jianying CUI, vice professor and master supervisor at Institute of Logic and cognition KEY RESEARCH INSTITUE IN Sun Yat-Sen UNIVERSITY which is the key research base for Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education. Professor Cui’s research interests include the theory of argumentative game and abstract argumentation, game cognitive logic and dynamic cognitive model testing.

Yan Gao, vice professor at the school of information science and engineering in central south university. Professor Gao’s research interests include data mining, machine learning, natural language processing. As the first author,professor Gao has published more than 10 scientific research papers (EI, SCI retrieval). At present, 2 patents have been authorized and 2 patents have been accepted.
