Happy New Year! With the coming festival, we Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) sends our best wishes to all members, academic and industrial colleagues! I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the leaders at all levels and people with lofty ideals who have always been cared for the growth of our CAAI for many years!

At the beginning of new year, turning danger into opportunity. In the global crisis of COVID-19 in 2020, we work together with the colleagues of the intelligent industry under the guidance of the China Association for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Civil Affairs. We held "three meetings and two awards" brand activities and organized international conferences for many times, carried out in-depth poverty alleviation through science and technology, helping the development of local intelligent industry. During the epidemic, while doing a good job in positional warfare, we also gave full play to the advantages of organization, technology and industry, took the initiative to attack, and successfully completed the battle of epidemic situation, earnestly shouldering the historical and social responsibilities of practitioners in the field of artificial intelligence.

The past has been a story, and new achievements are needed in the new era. Artificial intelligence is the key field of strengthening national strategic science and technology strength and the key construction direction of "New Infrastructure" in China's "the 14th five-year plan". The CAAI, academia and industry colleagues should implement the new development concept, integrate into the new development pattern and devote themselves to the new era to live up to the ardent hope of the country and the people.

"He who are determined are the masters of fame and achievements; He who is not lazy is the teacher of good.”2021 is the centenary of the Communist Party of China and the 40th anniversary of the founding of the CAAI. Standing at the historical intersection of the "two centenaries" and taking the new journey of building a modern socialist country, we will keep in mind the mission of serving national scientific decision-making, innovation driven development, and intelligent scientists, building a world-class association under the guidance of the "the 14th five-year plan" and with the "four orientations" as the goal, making new contributions to the development of global AI technology!
