On January 10, 2021, CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology successfully held its first-quarter journal conference in Chongqing. The conference was presided over by Xi PENG, deputy director of the journal editorial board and president of the journal society of Chongqing University of Technology. Some participants attended the conference on site. They are Professor Hong LIU of Peking University, who is also executive editor-in-chief of the Journal and Deputy Chairman of the CAAI, Professor Yong XU of Harbin Institute of Technology, Meimei YANG, director of General Department, Liu HE, director of the English Journal Editorial Department, deputy director Jiayi XU, and editor Yi MOU and Jinyu JIANG. And other people participated in the conference online. They are Professor Xin XU from National University of Defense Technology, and Professor Maoguo GONG, director of the Computational Intelligence Research Center of Xidian University.

At the beginning of the meeting, Director Liu HE introduced to the participants the development history of CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology since its inception in 2016 and the highlights of the journal in 2020. First, in October 2020, CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology was included in ESCI database.
Second, CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology won the first CiteScore -- 5.3 in 2020 in the internationally renowned Scopus database. According to the journal list in 2020, CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology is expected to rank 53rd out of 246 journals in AI subject in the database next year. Third, the first Youth Editorial Board of CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology was successfully established in 2020.
Fourthly, the 4th Asian Artificial Intelligence Technology Conference was successfully held and won the "Annual Sichuan and Chongqing Most Influential Academic Activity Award", which greatly enhanced the influence and popularity of the journal and the conference.

At the conference, participants fully discussed the construction direction of CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology in 2021, the theme of the "Fifth Asian Artificial Intelligence Technology Conference", the conference features, the scope of soliciting contributions and the preparatory work.

First of all, the editor-in-chief Hong LIU reviewed and summarized the achievements of periodical construction in the past five years, and put forward the goals of periodical and conference construction during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. He said that every efforts should be made to build CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology into a top international journal in the field of artificial intelligence, and build the "Asian Artificial Intelligence Technology Conference" into an high-end international event.

Afterwards, Professor Yong XU congratulated the achievements of the journal and the conference. At the same time, he suggested that, on the one hand, we should further pool expert resources to consolidate the stability and long-term effectiveness of experts' influence in running journals and conferences.
On the other hand, close contact and exchange with the CAAI should be enhanced.

Professor Xin XU suggested that the directions of calling for papers for the conference should be echoed with the disciplines set by the country, and the features of the conference should be found and focused. In addition, he also put forward effective suggestions on the specific details of the meeting, such as the time of the meeting and the construction of the conference website.

In terms of the features of the conference, Professor Maogo GONG believes that it is necessary to match the top international conferences in the field of artificial intelligence and find out the goals, gaps and methods to truly build "Asia Artificial Intelligence Technology Conference" into an international high-end conference in the field.

At the same time, Jiayi XU, deputy director of the editorial department, Jinyu JIANG and Yi MOU, editors of the English Journal, also put forward their own views and suggestions on relevant issues. In addition, the participants also discussed the characteristics of the conference, the establishment of the procedural committee, the cooperation of the conference and other related issues, and reached consensus.

At the end of the conference,Xi PENG made a concluding speech. He hoped that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the editorial board and editorial team would work together to contribute to the construction of CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology and the Asian Conference on Artificial Intelligence Technology.
