Science and technology help medical teams in the front line to fight the epidemic. On February 6, the "Medical Imaging National New Generation Artificial Intelligence Open Innovation Platform" approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology was joined by a number of medical imaging artificial intelligence companies, medical device manufacturers, medical institutions, scientific research institutions, and industry studies, including the Chinses Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI). These associations and the government-related institutions jointly launched an initiative to "strengthen the cooperation in the medical imaging artificial intelligence industry to fight the 2019-nCoV". As one of the initiators of the initiative, CAAI is willing to shoulder the responsibility of "coordinated anti-epidemic" with all the initiators and overcome the difficulties with Wuhan.

The outbreak of pneumonia caused by 2019-nCoV infection (hereinafter referred to as 2019-nCoV) is very severe, and the diagnosis and suspected screening of 2019-nCoV patients have become one of the important tasks in the control of the epidemic. Currently, imaging methods based on medical images, such as lung CT, have become an important complement to PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test kits. Combined with artificial intelligence technology, the screening and treatment of newly infected patients can be carried out more quickly and efficiently, while the research and development of medical imaging artificial intelligence products, involving clinical data, diagnostic and screening criteria, ethical approval, algorithm development, product design and other issues, needs the joint efforts and coordination of medical institutions, scientific research institutes, trade associations, enterprises and institutions in order to promote rapid research and development and clinical trials of medical imaging AI products.

The new generation of artificial intelligence open innovation platform for medical imaging countries, would like to unite all medical imaging artificial intelligence enterprises, medical device manufacturers, medical institutions, scientific research institutions, trade associations and relevant government institutions to promote the research and development, ethical examination and approval, standard-setting, product development and rational trial of medical imaging artificial intelligence, so as to rapidly advance medical image artificial intelligence and its value in the front of anti-epidemic fight. Specific initiatives are as follows:

1.We are supposed to establish a database for the labeling of new coronary pneumonia cases, and encourage the research institutions to carry out algorithm research and the enterprises to develop products, which could be used to tackle key problems and rapidly produce a batch of new 2019-nCoV auxiliary diagnostic algorithms and products.

Second, ethical examination and approval and standard system should be built to realize the rational use of 2019-nCoV medical data, to rapidly iterate new 2019-nCoV diagnosis and artificial intelligence screening standards, and to ensure a reasonable and efficient promotion of medical imaging artificial intelligence system.

3. We should encourage the free deployment of medical imaging artificial intelligence products for all designated hospitals to carry out auxiliary screening work and facilitate intelligent diagnosis and treatment of epidemic diseases.

4. What we should do is to achieve coordinated deployment, exchange needed resources, give full play to each other's advantages, increase cooperation between upstream and downstream enterprises, accurately locate clinical practical difficulties, avoid unnecessary waste, and enable more resources to be used in an orderly and efficient manner.

Prevention and control of the 2019-nCoV is not a day's work, we will work together to overcome the difficulties. We also hope that our initiative can get more support and concern from medical institutions, research institutions, and relevant enterprises and institutions. Let us help each other overcome difficulties!
