Members and related units:
In order to study and judge the development trend of science and technology in the future, plan ahead and lay out the frontier fields and directions of science and technology, aim at the frontier of science and technology in the world, and promote the construction of a powerful country in science and technology in the world, CAAI has collected " Major Scientific and Engineering Technical Issues " for our members and relevant units. The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:
1. Deadline
April 20, 2020.
2. Fields
In principle, the collection covers all fields of natural science and engineering technology, focusing on 12 fields, including basic science of mathematics and chemistry, life science, earth science, ecological environment, manufacturing science and technology, information technology, advanced materials, resources and energy, agricultural science and technology, transportation, space and ocean, medical health, etc.
3. Content
Frontier scientific problems and engineering technical problems that play a leading role in the future development of science and technology. We will strengthen the collection of fundamental and overall scientific and technological issues, especially basic research, key generic technologies, cutting-edge leading technologies, modern engineering technologies, disruptive technologies, "neck blocking" technologies, key directions of scientific and technological research, and technologies to promote sustainable development, and focus on relevant problems in cross integration fields, including: title, discipline, key words, problem description (including problem background, latest progress and significance). The length of the text is about 2000 Chinese characters. Except that the title and key words are written in both Chinese and English, the rest are written in Chinese (see Appendix 1 for the format). Problems and difficulties not written in the prescribed format will not be able to enter the selection.
4. Other matters
（1） Before April 20, 2020, all units should submit the recommended issues and recommendation forms to the Secretariat of CAAI at msc@caai.cn.
（2）CAAI will set up a review committee to select and comment on the recommendation issues, and select three issues with guiding role for scientific development and three issues with key role for technology and industrial innovation to be recommended to CAST.
1. The 20 issues selected through the final evaluation will be released at the 22nd annual meeting of CAST. CAST will invite the writers and the principals and contacts of the recommendation societies or associations as guests to attend the release ceremony.
2. The 20 issues selected through the final evaluation will be collected and published as major scientific and engineering technical problems in 2020 with its bibliometric analysis report.
3. Hold a series of high-level seminars around the major scientific and engineering technical issues collected and selected, discuss the opportunities, challenges, important progress, main problems, application prospects and policy suggestions of the problems, and form a proposal report. CAST will select some of these issues and submit them to the relevant departments of the state for decision-making reference through "suggestions of scientific and technological workers" and other channels.
It is hoped that the members of all societies and the majority of scientific and technological workers will actively participate in the conference, gather the wisdom of the scientific and technological community, and make contributions to the construction of a world power in science and technology.
