In order to speed up the implementation of innovation driven development strategy and promote young practitioners in the field of artificial intelligence to have a deeper understanding of the academic frontier, Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) has established a series of academic exchange activities of "artificial intelligence frontier workshop" (hereinafter referred to as CAAI-AIDL) since 2016. The workshop can promote academic exchanges, broaden horizons and improve technical level of the young practitioners. It provides a platform for equal exchange of scientific and technological practitioners. Meanwhile, the in-depth discussion of first-class experts, senior scientific researchers and enterprise elites in relevant fields has further promoted the sound development of the integration of production, learning and research in the field of artificial intelligence. The workshop related matters are as follows.

Ⅰ. Background

CAAI-AIDL has been successfully held seven times in Beijing, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Wuhan and other places before 2016. With professional, high-quality and precise front-line interpretation, CAAI-AIDL has been widely praised, benefiting more than 2000 people. Besides these 9 elites above, 76 famous scholars and industry experts brought 56 thematic reports, focusing on cutting-edge technologies such as deep learning, machine learning, big data, intelligent perception, natural language processing, computer vision and so on.

II. Guests

The topic of 8th CAAI-AIDL, sponsored by CAAI, is "natural language understanding, nature language generation and human-computer dialogue". Qiu Xipeng, Professor of School of Computer Science and Technology, Fudan University, and Li Lei, director of ByteDance Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, were invited as academic directors.
