Sponsored by China Association of Science and Technology (CAST) and Beijing government, “the Twenty-third China Association of Science and Technology Annual Meeting– Life Science and Wisdom Medicine” Summit Forum was held on July 28, 2021 in Zhongguancun Life Science Park of Beijing. Recently, academician Dai Qionghai, chairman of CAAI, shared his observation and thoughts about wisdom medical through the video.

To promote multi-disciplinary integration

Academician Dai Qionghai said, the current artificial intelligence and wisdom medical has entered the field of public health service, influencing and changing people’s social life. It is of great concern to everyone that what long-term impact and help that the traditional digitalization and intellectualization will bring for the medical care workers and patients. During such process, I think we should especially focus on the integrating development of medical and multi-disciplinary. This year, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized at his inspection tour to Tsinghua University that major original innovation achievements usually sprouted from the deep basic research, come out of the interdisciplinary fields, specifically the integration of medical and other disciplines. Mutual learning and integration of traditional medical and informatics and engineering is an important development trend and also an important development direction for promoting precision medical. It is hoped to drive the multi-disciplinary integration of engineering, science and medicine so as to contribute to a healthy China through the exchange of this conference. 

To promote in-depth integration in multi-fields

At present, with the rapid progress in a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, the scientific research paradigm is undergoing profound change with continuous development of multi-disciplinary integration, which has promoted the scientific research of bioscience, medicine and pharmacy to a new level. It is also pointed out in the “14th Five-year Plan” that “enhance cross-innovation of information science and life science”, “accelerate the development of trials and demonstrations in key fields like wisdom medical”. 

The “Life Science and Wisdom Medicine” Summit Forum aims to serve Bejing’s “14th Five-year Plan” for national economy and society development and its vision 2035. With the goal of helping Beijing build an international healthy industrial innovation center, depending on pilot project of “science and technology innovation in China”, taking the industrial development need as the guidance, we will give full play to the organizational strength of China Association of Science and Technology and national association resources to promote the deep integration in the fields of information science and life science and biomedicine, and enhance the regional innovation capability and make new contribution to the science association.
