Fifth International Conference on Cognitive Systems and Information Processing (ICCSIP 2020) kicks off in Hengqin, Zhuhai on December 25 with three key-note speeches, three special presentations and 15 side events, attracting nearly 150 participants.
Professor Tianzi JIANG, member of CAS, delivered a speech of the Human Brainnetome Atlas and its Applications in Cognition and Brain-inspired Computing. He started with conceptions concerned with brain network group, which is composed of two basic elements of brain network nodes and connections between nodes. These two elements can be defined on a macro, mesoscopic and micro scale. Then he introduced in detail the related research on the brain network group map, and its application, such as using it to the differences in the ways of emotion regulation between men and women, the biological signs of brain disease diagnosis, and the precise positioning of neuroregulation of brain diseases. Then he proposed a possible development of brain-like computing. The brain network group atlas is the basis of brain-like computing, and the brain network information processing mechanism is the basis for brain-like computing. In the end, he gave a summary and outlook.
Professor Qinghu Meng from Southern University of Science and Technology made a key-note speech of Wise Medical: From AI Automatic Diagnosis to Surgical Robot. Wise medicine is becoming an inseparable part of clinical medicine. Built on professor’s hard work in the field of smart medicine for more than 20 years, he introduced to the audience the automatic diagnosis of artificial intelligence based on medical images, the active wireless capsule endoscopy robot of the digestive tract, and the assistant robot for orthopedic surgery. At last, he provided insights on the future development of wise medicine.
Professor Baoliang LU from Shanghai Jiao Tong University shared his research on brain-computer interface. His speech, Affective Brain-Computer Interface, started with the development background and significance of emotional artificial intelligence, then introduced the emotional research work based on brain-computer interfaces in recent years, and finally looked forward to the future of robot emotions.
Three presentations were delivered this afternoon that are Professor Yongsheng OU's Intelligent Control of Robots based on Learning Human by Demonstration, Professor LinLin SHEN's Face Editing using Generative Adversarial Networks, and Professor Qing SHI's Advances in Developing a Small-Sized Robotic Rat.
