Artificial intelligence (AI) is the current hot spot that everybody pays attention to.
But how does AI work, and how will it change our lives?
Guoyin WANG, vice president of the China Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI), president of the Chongqing Artificial Intelligence Society and dean of the Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, is working on this project to make AI work better for people.
On the occasion of the 4th National Day of Science and Technology Workers, organized by the Organization Department of the Municipal Party Committee, the Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, and the municipal Science and Technology Association, the "Chongqing Outstanding Scientists Talent Show" will introduce a series of reports on scientists' stories in a live demonstration, which will be held from May 29 to June 30 at the Chongqing Science and Technology Museum. This is to promote the spirit of scientists, to show respect for science and talents and to create a good social atmosphere.
It mainly shows the success stories and main achievements of the academicians of the Chinese academy of sciences and Chinese academy of engineering in Chongqing and other outstanding scientists to the whole society, so that the general public can get to know them and feel inspired.

How does artificial intelligence work?
Make it more like the human brain
In recent years, AI has had great opportunities due to the development of cloud computing and big data: cloud computing provides a powerful computing platform for AI, and big data provides rich data resources for AI, Wang said.
In particular, the development of deep learning technology has enabled artificial intelligence to enter public life and develop into an industry.
From Wang's point of view, the data processing ability of the computer is strong, but there is still a gap with human cognition.
For example, human cognition has a "wide-range first" pattern. When an acquaintance comes in the distance, a human can guess who it is by looking at the outline of a shape, while computer image recognition starts with the most fine-grained Pixel data.
How to narrow this gap and make artificial intelligence more towards the way of thinking and cognition of human brain is a scientific problem worthy of many researchers to tackle.
In response, Wang proposed that AI will bring the greatest value to big data, and multi-granularity cognitive computing, which integrates human cognitive principles and computer information processing principles, will be the future development direction of big data intelligent computing.
Centering on "AI" to help the intelligent development of the industry
Nowadays, AI technology is promoting the development from information to intelligence in all industries, and it has become a common technology that affects many industries.
Led by Guoyin WANG, the Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications big data intelligent computing research team has carried out a number of scientific studies around "artificial intelligence + " .
For example, infant development health problems would be well prevented through the sound of the heartbeat of big data intelligence analysis and health prevention big data analysis, so that children with diseases would get early treatment.
So far, Wang said, they have set up a heart sound database with tens of thousands of heart sound fragments, which will provide basic data for studies such as intelligent health prevention.
In the intelligent manufacturing industry, Wang and his team focus on the basic field of process industry, analyzing the production data, moving from information to intelligence for the industry and providing support from data, production, decision-making, etc.
In addition, Professor Wang Guoyin is leading the research team to integrate artificial intelligence into many key fields, such as medical health, information security, public security, ecological environment, social governance and so on.
Wang believes that researchers should take a longer-term perspective and think more about how to apply the research results of big data and artificial intelligence to the development and construction of various sectors of the social economy, so that the research results can be waved into the real economy, boosting economic development and building a smart society.
